XXX Knit a SUMMER Sweater with Designer Ann McCauley!

The skills you should bring to class are:
How to Knit, Purl, Cast On, Bind Off, Increase and Decrease.  You will also need to be comfortable with lace knitting if you choose Peri's Parasol. Suggested Yarn- Peri's Parasol- Tahki Cotton Classic or the DK wt yarn of your choice to achieve gauge.  Striped Stockinette T- Brown Sheep Cotton Fine or the fingering wt yarn of your choice to achieve gauge.

So, are you in?  If so, here's the plan.  Choose the sweater you wish to knit and get your pattern and yarn at LYS. These patterns are available in the two books that Ann has published, and both are at Longmont Yarn Shoppe if you do not already own a personal copy.  Before the first class you should knit and block a 4 inch X 4 inch gauge swatch.   Bring it to the 1st class.  Also, please bring your pattern and your knitting progress to every class after that.

In the first class,  Ann will walk you through the design elements and milestones of both patterns.   We will discuss measurements to make sure everyone is making an accurate size for themselves.  Last of all we will cover blocking the front and back of your sweater so shoulders can be seamed at the second class.   There will be lots of knitting to do between classes to ensure you can complete your sweater, but, you can do it!

Our 2nd class will include seaming the shoulders and picking up neck stitches.  No previous seaming experience is required.  You will learn to seam at class.

Class 3 will cover setting in sleeves, side seams and finishing.  By the end of class 3, students should be able to get one sleeve in and partial sleeve and side seam in.  You will have the skills you need to be able to complete your sweater at home.

Our 4th class will be........A CELEBRATION!!!  The date of the celebration is to be determined.  Please, wear finished garment to shop for photo as we celebrate your new garment!!
