Westknits Marled Magic MKAL (Mystery Knit-A-Long)

Here’s how it works. You gather all those bits of fingering weight yarn you’ve been telling yourself about every time you visit your stash. Then visit LYS to find one (or more skeins) of fingering wt yarn or a Lace Wt Mohair (as suggested by Stephen) to add some texture. 

We meet for the first two clue releases on March 3rd and March 10th from 6:00-7:30 PM at LYS. Then, on April 14th, we will have a Show and Tell at Evening Handwork at 6 pm. This will give everyone a chance to get most, and maybe all of the shawl finished.   At April 14th Show and Tell the MKAL participants will vote for their favorites within the makers for surprises.

Knitting, community, prizes, a way to use up all those bits of yarn we have been holding on to and promising to make good of. And all with a pattern from one of our favorite designers, Stephen West! What could be better than that?

Gather your fingering weight stash and decide what you want to do with the colors you’ve got. Stephen has some helpful tips in the introductory pattern information.  You will want to get your pattern so go to the pattern link here, or pop in to LYS and we can help you get your pattern.  

While you are at LYS, grab a skein of fingering yarn to be the consistent yarn through the entire pattern. This will be held double with your stash bits to create a marled color scheme.

Lastly, join us for the first two weeks for community, knitting, and fun. Then, again for the show and tell so we can give away prizes.
