Needle Tatting for Beginners

Tatting is a delicate handmade lace formed usually by looping and knotting with a single cotton thread.
In this class you will learn the basics of tatting with a needle: the stitch, rings, picots, joining picots, and chains.

Materials for class:
Tatting Thread - white is easiest to see while learning
Highly suggested
materials are a Needle Tatting Kit with instruction booklet (available at Longmont Yarn Shoppe), needle and needle threader as well as additional patterns and a great resource for refresher instructions.

The alternative for above materials is a medium tatting needle size #5 -0.
Optional: student could bring a small crochet hook (size 6 is good, but anything small will do).

No prior experience is needed.  Skill with fine string work is helpful.  Once you learn the basics of tatting and how to read patterns, each of these designs is within your reach!
