The 4 Day Sweater Challenge by Olive Knits! via Zoom

The 4 Day Sweater Challenge by Olive Knits is back at LYS for the third year. It sounds wacky but it can be done and what do you have to lose? Give it a try and end up with a beautiful DK weight sweater that enhances your wardrobe.

Save the Dates! Check it out...

We split it into THREE options for this KAL:

1.  Purchase your yarn at the shop (we have several suggestions), and get $10.00 off of your sweater yarn purchase.

2.  Use yarn from your stash, your ticket to the celebration is $20.00

3.  NOT WILD about this sweater? Choose any Marie Greene sweater for the KAL and join in the fun!  Option 1 and 2 still apply, but you can make the Marie Green sweater of your choosing!  Note- you will not qualify for the Marie Green Facebook giveaways unless you do the current sweater option.

4.  Don't let the fun pass you bye...If you're not a fan of the pullover we can steek it!  Yup we will make it into a cardigan!  There is some prep that needs to be done before you start knitting so set an appointment to discuss with Sandi or Gail.

Come and enjoy a fun way to knit a sweater and celebrate with us all your hard work.

There’s a sliding timeline that adjusts for sizes (32-52″ bust size with positive ease built-in), so knitters have between 4-8 days for the official “challenge” portion. Whether you knit it in 4 days or 4 weeks, the goal is to simply to knit a sweater more quickly than you thought you could. That’s it. There is NO pressure to make it in 4 days (knit at a pace that works for you); the crazy timeline is just for fun.

How to make sure you are “in” the Olive Knits KAL:

Set up a project page on Ravelry, be sure it’s linked to the Soundtrack Pullover and use the tags: 4daykal, 4daykal2020 and soundtrackpullover. That’s it!  Pick your yarn and post a photo of it (or your swatch) to your project page, and when the time comes, cast on with us on July 4th.

For those who would like to Steek your sweater, Sandi has put together these instructions for you.  And this comment:  "When you cast on, knit the neckline ribbing flat, not in the round.  Then use cable cast on the steeking stitches and start in the round from there.
I would recommend just knitting across the steek stitches for this garment to make it easier and since the colorwork is very simple."  Sandi recommends 5 stitches for the steek section.

Skill Level: intermediate
Skill Details: Previous sweater experience is helpful but you will be among friends who will help, and Olive Knits has excellent patterns with clear instructions. Plus, the FB page and Ravelry Page is super friendly and helpful.
