Learn to Cable: Make a Pillow

Do you admire knitted pieces that are cabled?  Come learn the skills of cabling as your brighten your home with new handmade pillows.  You may consider joining us in Cable Club and practice your new found skills when you join a community of fellow cablers making an afghan of eighteen more cable patterns! 

In this class you will learn how to cable, how to read c able knitting charts, plus how to seam yourpillow using both mattress and Bickford stitches. 

Norah's Vintage Afghan Pattern on Ravelry
Worsted Wt yarn - about 380 yards per pillow
Suggested yarns include:  Ella Rae Cozy Alpaca - 3 skeins, Berroco Ultra Wool - 2 skeins, Malabrigo Rios - 2 skeins
Size 7 Needle or needles to make gauge
Stitch Markers
14 X 14 Pillow liner for each pillow you make
Cable needle
Tapestry Needle

HOMEWORK before first class:  Complete the first 10 rows of square number 7.

Skill Level: intermediate
Skill Details: Student should be able to cast on, bind off, and be comfortable with knitting and purling. You will have lots of opportunity to learn how to cable and read charts in class!
Requirements: Materials must be purchased at Longmont Yarn Shoppe. Students enjoy a 10% materials discount.
