Simple Fair Isle Cowl to Steek

Complete a Fair Isle style cowl and learn how to steek for a buttoned closure.  Lean how to complete stranded knitting using 2 hands and then learn how to steek and add a button band for a beautiful finished touch! 

This is a 3 session class
Session 1- Cast on and learn 2 handed knitting
Session 2 - Knit and trouble shoot questions
Session 3 - Steek and pick up for button band and button holes.

Pattern- Awakening Cowl on Ravelry
Yarn- various colors of fingering or sport wt yarn.  Suggested yarns are:  Bio Shetland, Teanie Weanie Wool, or Andorra.
Crochet hook, wast yarn, buttons, tapestry needle.

Obtain the pattern and have colorwork yarn and contrasting color determined before class begins.  Complete entire ribbing section prior to class.  The suggested cast on is a Cable Cast On. 

Skill Level: intermediate
Skill Details: Student should know how to knit, purl, pick up stitches
Materials Included: Hand out tips on button holes.
