Double knitting is a cool and fun knitting technique that produces a double layer of stockinette stitch fabric with mirror image colorwork while knitting both layers at the same time. In this class we will use tubular cast on and bind off, knit in the round and learn the two handed method of knitting colors while reading a chart.
Materials list- OBTAIN ALL MATERIALS BEFORE CLASS
Pattern- Snowflake Girl by Nicole Montgomery on Ravelry.
Fingering wt yarn in two contrasting colors: 1 skein of each
(Totals: 330 yards for small, 660 yards for large – divided equally between two colors) Suggested: Apothefaery Merino Silk, Ella Rae Super fine Merino Heather, Hue Loco Merino Sock, Yarn and Soul Superfine 400
Size 3 circular needle - 24” length
To make a larger version one can use Sport or DK weight yarn:
2 skeins of each color, Kelbourne Woolens Andorra or Scout, Plymouth Quaker Hill
Size 4 or 6 circular needle – 24” length
