Clasped Warp Scarf & Fringe Finishing Techniques on the Rigid Heddle Loom
Learn how to create brand new patterns on your rigid heddle loom by shifting color in your warp during the warping process! This technique opens the door to a large variety of new patterns in your weaving bringing an organic element to the structure of weaving. Create a soft beautiful scarf with Sun Valley’s amazing yarn.
In class we will also cover a variety of fringe finishing techniques and go over more in depth tips for finishing your hand woven projects.
2 skeins of Sun Valley MCN in contrasting colors.
Rigid heddle loom 10 inches or wider, with 10 dent heddle and all supplies for warping and weaving (warping peg, heddle hook, 10 dent heddle, Stick Shuttle, ruler, paper or corrugated cardboard for winding onto loom, scissors. Please note: Cricket Looms come with an 8 dent heddle. Please be sure you are using a 10 dent heddle for best results.
No Homework Prior to Class.

| Instructor Bio: | Sara Goldenberg White has been teaching weaving along the Front Range for over a decade. Her passion for weaving and teaching started during her graduate study at CSU. She teaches a variety of fiber techniques but sharing her love of weaving with others is one of her greatest joys. Sara co authored Simple Woven Garments 20+ Projects to Weave and Wear with Jane Patrick. Other projects Sara has woven can be found in The Weaver?s Idea Book, Woven Scarves 26 Inspired Ideas for the Rigid Heddle Loom, Easy Weaving With Little Looms and Handwoven Magazine. Sara also has a lively fine arts practice and has exhibited her work at museums and galleries throughout the country. Sara enjoys the balance of creating her own work and sharing her love of weaving in the classroom, she looks forward to seeing you there! |
