CALL TO REGISTER Color and Weave VIA ZOOM!



Unlock new ways to create pattern in your weaving with how color is arranged in the warp and weft! Color and weave opens the door to endless patterns and designs. In this class we will design scarves using beautiful alpaca yarn that mixes multiple patterns  on one warp. This class will help students build confidence in designing their own patterns as well as direct warping techniques that make color shifts easy!

Materials List:

scissors 
10 inch or wider Rigid Heddle loom with a 10 dent heddle and all supplies for warping and weaving. 
Loom can be brought from home or rented from the shop.  The shop has 15 inch wide looms available for rental. 
Paper or corrugated cardboard to wind onto loom (from home or part of shop rental)

Yarn requirements - choose one of the following suggested yarn pairings.  High contrast colors are the best for color and weave. 
Ella Rae Phoenix- 1 skeins of 2 different colors -  2 skeins total 
Nature Spun Sport - 2 balls of 2 different colors -  4 balls total (note- we have a large order of Nature Spun Sport in Charcoal and Natural on it's way by March 9, 2021
Quaker Hill by Plymouth Yarn - 1 skein of 2 different colors - 2 skeins total

Yarn must be purchased from Longmont Yarn Shoppe to participate in class.  Students can enjoy a class 10% materials discount using code SARA10 at check out.

Skill Level: Intermediate
Skill Details: Beginning Rigid Heddle experience required.
Instructor: Sara Goldenberg White
Instructor Bio: Sara Goldenberg White has been teaching weaving along the Front Range for over a decade. Her passion for weaving and teaching started during her graduate study at CSU. She teaches a variety of fiber techniques but sharing her love of weaving with others is one of her greatest joys. Sara co authored Simple Woven Garments 20+ Projects to Weave and Wear with Jane Patrick. Other projects Sara has woven can be found in The Weaver?s Idea Book, Woven Scarves 26 Inspired Ideas for the Rigid Heddle Loom, Easy Weaving With Little Looms and Handwoven Magazine. Sara also has a lively fine arts practice and has exhibited her work at museums and galleries throughout the country. Sara enjoys the balance of creating her own work and sharing her love of weaving in the classroom, she looks forward to seeing you there!
