Estonian Lace



Estonian Lace is known for its nupps as well as its beauty.  Come and make a traditional Estonian piece of your very own.  IN Estonian Lace we will use a workbook to cover everything you need to know to make a traditional Estonian scarf from beginning to end. 

Yarn and needle selection, cast on, nupps, bind off, sewing the edging on and blocking will all be covered.  Come ready to learn how to read charts if you don't already know how, and discover that they are your friend.  Try your hand at sewing the edging on in the traditional method and learn how to pick up stitches to work the edging in a modern way.  

Materials:
US size 2,3,or 4 24 inch circular needle 
880 yards of lace wt yarn such as Exquisite, Lunar, or Hedgehog.  Solid colors show your lacework better than multicolors.
Pattern selection is being finalized. 


Skill Level: intermediate
Skill Details: Student should know how to knit and purl. Be ready to learn to increase, decrease and read a chart.
