Speedy Selbu Mitts
Make these worsted weight color-work mittens and learn basic color-work techniques including reading a chart and increasing and decreasing in a pattern. Additionally you will have these adorable mitts to wear!
Materials List:
Pattern - Speedy Selbu Mittens
DPNs (Double Pointed Needles) in size 4 and 9. The 8 inch/longer needles are suggested.
The Selbu Mitt sample at the shop was knit with size 6 and 10 needles to get gauge with aran wt yarn/Shepherd's Wool.
Worsted Wt. Wool in 2 colors. Higher contrast colors will show off the pattern best.
Suggested yarns- Shepherd's Wool, Juniper Moon Moonshine, Lettlopi,
A small amount (approximately 1 yard) of smooth worsted or DK wt cotton or acrylic blend for waste yarn

Skills needed to take this class:
Previous experience with Double Pointed Needles or Magic Loop- whichever the student prefers.
Homework: Using Long Tail Cast on do the ribbing for the cuff on at least one mitten and be ready to go into the color-work portion of the mitten.
