Log Cabin Placemats on the Rigid Heddle Loom
In class students will weave a set of hemstitched log cabin placemats! Log cabin is a traditional version of color and weave and lends itself to many possibilities. Students can decide if they want one matching set or to create a series of coordinating placemats with different variations of log cabin all from one warp!
Class supplies:
Yarn: 2 colors of 3/2 Perle Cotton
Rigid heddle loom 15” or wider
10 dent heddle
Heddle hook
Warping peg
Paper or corrugated cardboard to wind onto loom
Tapestry needle
Scissors
Ruler/measuring tape
