Whitmoor Sweater
Ready to try something a little more advanced than your basic lace scarf or cowl, or a plain sweater? Put your knitting skills to good use in this top-down lace-yoke sweater that is great for the advanced beginner or more experienced knitter. Knit in mohair and fingering weight held together or a single strand of DK you will make a beautiful garment to enjoy for years. In the class we will cover basic sweater-knitting skills, reading from a chart, as well as how to knit lace in a garment.
Materials:
Pattern- Whitmoor Sweater on Ravelry
Yarn based on your size - suggested yarns are mohair and fingering weight yarn to hold together such as Shibui Silk Cloud and Fino by Manos del Uruguay OR DK weight yarn held single such as Dulce by Berroco, or Cosette by Dream in Color or Merino DK by Knerdstring
Stitch markers, waste yarn
Needles:
3mm/ US 2.5 - 24”/ 60cm-long circular needle for ribbing3mm/ US 2.5 -DPNs for sleeve cuff ribbing
4mm / US 6- 24”/ 60 cm- long circular for main fabric body
4mm/ US 6- 12”/ 30cm long circular for main fabric sleeves
HOMEWORK - knit and block a gauge swatch 28 sts wide by at least 3 inches long
Agenda for class:
March 1: bring your swatch, talk about gauge, sizing, lifelines and cast-on
March 8: Lace work
March 15: Finishing the yoke and dividing for sleeves and body
April 5: Final meeting/show and tell

| Requirements: | Students need to come with basic knitting skills, some experience with knitting lace, reading a chart or written patterns. Christie is teaching the Gull Lace Cowl class February 18th which would be a great intro to lace or lace refresher class.
