Weaving Study Group (in person)

Weaving Study Group is a place for harness weavers to meet together/gather, learn and share. Lead by master weaver Beth Fowler, each gathering will include a presentation on a variety of topics relevant to harness weaving and based on the group's interest. This could include tips and tricks, use of harness weaving tools, combining yarns and color theory.

The book Next Steps in Weaving by Patty Graver will be used as a roadmap for weaving techniques & potential projects.

The agenda for fall 2024 will be:

September - Twill
October- Color
November- Overshot

The 2024 agenda will be determined based on the Weaving Study Group's interest.

The first gathering of the month would be Show and Tell of the previous month, then an overview of the new topic by Beth, and the 2nd gathering would be problem solving/check in and sharing and continued learning.

Participants in Weaving Study Group will enjoy a 10% store discount on the Study Group Meeting dates.
Those who would like to drop in rather than register for the 3 months would pay a drop in fee of 25.00 per gathering.

Since this is a new endeavor, we invite anyone interested to attend any one of the sessions complimentary for their first visit, so they can confirm that this is a fit for them before signing up/paying.  Please call the shop to let us know you are going to be joining the group in case of weather issues or other reasons the meet up might be cancelled.  TY - Gail - 303-678-8242

Skill Level: Intermediate
Skill Details: Weaving Study group is for weavers who have participated in a beginning harness weaving class who want to further their learning in community.
Instructor: Beth Fowler
Instructor Bio: After retiring from a corporate career that spanned 42 years, I am excited to pursue my love of fiber art full time. I started weaving in the eighties on a 4-shaft table loom. I now use both 4 and 8 shaft floor looms depending on need. There are endless opportunities for exploration with both. Through the years, I experimented with many fiber related activities: quilting, garment sewing, bags, felting, dyeing and surface design to name a few. I especially enjoy how to combine color and texture into my work. I am excited to push into new directions, always ready to learn, share and collaborate with my extended fiber family.
