Fiber Fridays! Shawl Shapes (Zoom)

In this class, you get to knit! You will cast on and work five mini shawls in several of the following shapes: Square, Circular, Triangular, Heart-Shaped, Semi-Circular. The following shawl shapes will be discussed including wearability and basic shawl yarn choices will be included. How to shape several basic shawls, including increase and decrease points, techniques, formulas and rules, we will cover them all. This class includes lots of shawl samples, references and stitch patterns for you to explore.
SUPPLIES
Please bring to class:
- a skein of worsted or aran weight yarn (heavier is better but don’t buy a new skein)
- US Size 7 or 8 or 9 (4.5, 5, or 5.5 mm) needle 24” circular needle to match gauge
- A piece of cotton yarn, string or DMC type floss approx. 16” long
- Stitch marker
- We will be making small samples during class of several shawl shapes.
Print out the handouts attached to the email and bring them to class.
