Fiber Friday! Make a Doodle Cowl (Zoom)

Description:  
Join Jamie Lomax and learn to design and knit a custom colorwork cowl! In this fun and approachable class, we will use the modular Doodle motifs to build your own whimsical design, choose your yarn and color palette, learn tips for knitting with two colors, and leave with a solid project plan by the end of class! This class is perfect for adventurous beginners who have knit 1-2 colorwork projects but want to learn more about stranded colorwork and making design and modification decisions. 

• PRIOR TO CLASS: If you'd like to knit some of the colorwork during the class (after we design our projects), please plan to cast on based on the cowl pattern and finish the lower ribbing, so you're ready to start the colorwork section.

• Skills Needed:
• Basic colorwork knitting (2-colors in the round)
• Skills Covered:
• How to choose and assemble your charts
• Tips for making design decisions and story telling with motifs
• Yarn and palette selection for your project
• Basic stranded colorwork techniques (in the round)
• Managing floats and tension for smooth fabric
• Materials Provided (print before class):
• Doodle Cowl Base Pattern with Basic Doodle Charts (print before class)
• Coupon for (1) Free Doodle Download on Ravelry to choose your Chart Theme
• Materials Needed:
• DK weight yarn in at least 2 colors (wound)
• US 5 (3.75mm) 24" circular needles for knitting in the round 
• Stitch markers & tapestry needle

Cancellation Policy for LYS Classes 

DISCLAIMER: Class may be cancelled if less than 3 students are enrolled. 

If LYS cancels the class, payment for your class will be refunded in full or can be transferred to another upcoming class. If we do need to cancel your class for low enrollment, the decision will be made 24 hours in advance and students will be notified by phone and/or email. 

Class may also be cancelled for inclement weather or instructor illness. Students will be notified by phone if this happens and can attend the rescheduled class or have their class fee returned 100%.

Refund Policy for LYS Classes 

If you need to return your class enrollment for a refund for any reason, we completely understand! Sometimes things pop up and life gets in the way of our crafting. 

See the time table below for eligible refunds on LYS classes: 

• At least 72 hours prior notice — 100% refund 

• 24 - 72 hours prior notice — 50% refund for store credit 

• Less than 24 hours prior notice — Not eligible for a refund. 

Student no-shows are also not eligible for a refund.
