Intro to Stranded Colorwork W/Christie (In Person)

Class will start with a discussion of reading charts and choosing yarns well suited to this technique.  We'll then cover how to do the actual knitting in 3 different ways including a method using just 1 color at a time.  By the end of the session you'll be all set to complete these beautiful mittens and many more projects to come.  This class is for intermediate knitters, basic knit and purl stitch skills, increases, reading a pattern, and knitting in the round are required.



Materials: A charted pattern will be provided during class for the colorwork session.

Yarn: 2 contrasting colors of mostly wool yarn.  The pattern is written for fingering weight, but you can choose any weight you like, although your mitten will be larger if you choose a thicker yarn.
Needles: Preferred needles for small circumference knitting in a size appropriate for you yarn.

Homework: If you are also taking the Latvian Braid class, there is no homework.  If you are NOT taking the braid class, cast on and knit rounds 1-3 or skip the braid and just cast on before class.

Cancellation Policy for LYS Classes 

DISCLAIMER: Class may be cancelled if less than 3 students are enrolled. 

If LYS cancels the class, payment for your class will be refunded in full or can be transferred to another upcoming class. If we do need to cancel your class for low enrollment, the decision will be made 24 hours in advance and students will be notified by phone and/or email. 

Class may also be cancelled for inclement weather or instructor illness. Students will be notified by phone if this happens and can attend the rescheduled class or have their class fee returned 100%.

Refund Policy for LYS Classes 

If you need to return your class enrollment for a refund for any reason, we completely understand! Sometimes things pop up and life gets in the way of our crafting. 

See the time table below for eligible refunds on LYS classes: 

• At least 72 hours prior notice — 100% refund 

• 24 - 72 hours prior notice — 50% refund for store credit 

• Less than 24 hours prior notice — Not eligible for a refund. 

Student no-shows are also not eligible for a refund.
