Felted Hat with Kris (in person)
This hat is perfect for the cold winter ahead and is perfect for the newish knitter who knows how to cast on and do the knit stitch. Choose from 4 different brim variations when making your hat. All styles are quick and easy to knit and even more fun to felt!
Students will learn knitting in the round, k2 tog, ssk, m1 magic loop method or use of double point needles as well as and felting techniques.
Materials:
Pattern- Fibertrends Felt Hat (AC 1)
Yarn- Worsted wt wool that is non superwash - you must use wool or fiber that will felt. 2 skeins of 200 yds for regular hat and 2 skeins of 250 yards for wide brim hat.
Needles - 24 in circular needle US 11 (or 13) and same size Double Point Needles OR 40 inch size 11 or 13 if you plan to do Magic Loop.
Notions- stitch markers, tapestry needle.
Suggested yarns are Woolstok by Blue Sky Fiber in 150 yard or 50 gm skeins to get to total needed, & Make by The Fibre Co, Laramie by Meadow Mountain Wool, Noro Haunui, Noro Kureyon or you can use 1 strand of Bulky Wt yarn (held single) such as Ultra Alpaca Chunky by Berroco
