Beginning Embroidery VIA ZOOM!



Want to learn embroidery stitches? How about a handcrafted needle case made by you to showcase what you learn? In this class, we will cover a variety of embroidery stitches, including several straight stitches, chained stitches, blanket stitch, French knots, and star stitch.  This class is for beginners, no experience necessary!  Your needle case will be the perfect place to hold your embroidery or sewing needles and threader.

Corinne Lapierre Wool Mix Felt Craft Kit – Needle Case
Sharp Scissors
tape measure or ruler
Clover Chaco Liner, tailor chalk, or sliver of soap—something to mark fabric with
Clover needle threader (for embroidery or tapestry needle) or Clover needle threader 4000
4” x 6” index card (optional)
Beeswax, Thread magic, or equivalent (optional)

Instructor: Marla Morris
Instructor Bio: Marla has a lifelong love for textiles. She picked up a needle at 5, and designed a doll dress. Her love of the needle spread to weaving, embroidery, and machine sewing during childhood, when she was making things by hand almost obsessively. She started knitting again in 2000, and beading again in 2002. She has taught many subjects including computers, sewing, knitting, weaving, quilting, embroidery, beading, spinning, dyeing, Cricut, and has designed several patterns-- knitting, embroidery, and sewing. She has been a Maker, Educator, Web Designer, Professional Organizer, and Project Manager. Her experience includes teaching both children and adults. Marla calls Texas home, although she grew up in Missouri.
