SOLD OUT Isabell Kraemer Premier Package! 2 classes with Isabell on May 8th!

Short Row - When and Why?  - morning class
In this class you will learn several different techniques for short rows to add shaping to your knitting and where to use them.  You will learn how to add shaping to a neckline worked in the round, how to shape shoulders, bust darts and hem lines.  Examples of my designs that use this method of shaping will be available to view in class.

Materials needed: Notepad and pen, knitting yarn and matching circular needles (DK or worsted wt will work best), saftery pins or locking stitch markers, darning needle, crochet hook (same size as knitting needles) and some waste yarn.

Homework:
1.  Neckband (starting point for short row use in neck shaping):  Cast on 40 stitches and join to knit in the round.  Work 4 rounds in 1X1 Rib (k1, p1), then knit 1 round.  Stitches should be left live on the needle.
2. Bust darts and hem lines:  cast on 28 stis, work 6 row in Garter stitch, then 4 rows in Stockinette stitch.  Stitches should be left live on the needle.

Shawl Shapes - afternoon class
Shawls can come in a wide range of shapes.  This class will help you understand how the shape of a shawl is built by the increases (decreases), and take your shawl knitting to a whole new level.

Once you get the basic idea, modifications are very easy to make, and it will be only a small step to bringing your own shawl ideas to life.

We will discuss basic shawl shaping (triangular, symmetric/asymmetric, circular, semi-circular, square, etc.), different ways to increase, how to add color/texture, or play with different yarn weights.

Materials:  Knitting yarn and matching circular needles.  Stitch Markers, Notebook and Pen.
Homework:  None.

Premier Package includes:

Instructor Bio: German knitwear designer Isabell Kraemer creates everyday items for modern knitters. Loving the outdoors, she is heavily influenced by nature; and those who know her designs love her casual, contemporary pieces that all come with a little twist. A confessed stripe addict herself, she is also hooked on seamless construction; not because she doesn't like seaming (she is a fully qualified dressmaker after all), but because she loves to see garments take shape and being able to adjust the fit on the go. Although hugely successful as a knitwear designer, she says that the biggest accomplishment is her son (there is even a pullover named after him) ? becoming a mother was the best thing that has happened to her, followed a close second by her husband of a few years and her three cats. Isabell is a qualified dressmaker who became a knitwear designer almost by accident! People kept asking her how she made things, so she published her notes on her blog. When she discovered Ravelry she gradually started to publish more and more designs. It wasn't long before she had gained a large and dedicated following for her fresh, wearable, and modern patterns. Isabell's designs have been published in Laine Magazine, Amirisu and Vogue Knitting. She has also produced beautiful designs for Malabrigo Yarns, Quince & Co and Swan?s Island? all in her signature streamlined and contemporary style.
