Learn to Cable via Classroom
Do you admire knitted pieces that are cabled? Come learn the skills of cabling and start your first square for Norah’s Vintage Afghan, you may consider joining us in Cable Club and practice your new found skills when you join a community of fellow cablers making an afghan of 19 more cable patterns!
In this class you will learn how to cable, how to read cable knitting charts and read your knitting on the front and back of your cables.
Materials:
Norah's Vintage Afghan Pattern
Worsted weight yarn
* Ella Rae Cozy Alpaca 2 skeins (178 yards each)
* Berroco Ultra Wool 1 skein (219 yards each)
* Malabringo Rios 1 skein (210 yards each) solid colors
Materials needed:
Size 7 needles or needles to make the gauge (20 stitches and 27 rows = 4 inches)
stitch markers
Removable markers
Row counter
Cable needle (I will have different types of cable needles for you to test out)
Tapestry needle
Pattern tape
HOMEWORK before first class: Complete the first 9 rows of square number 10.

Skill Details: | Advanced Beginner. Student should be able to cast on, bind off, and be comfortable with knitting and purling. You will have lots of opportunity to learn how to cable and read charts in class! |
Requirements: | Materials must be purchased at Longmont Yarn Shoppe. Students enjoy a 10% materials discount. |
