The Norrland Hat and Mittens



In this class we will advance your color work skills by adding cables and learn the Latvian Braid!

Norrland Hat and Mitten Pattern - available on Ravelry
Fingering wt yarn in yardage suggested on pattern.  Suggested yarns are Malabrigo Sock, Mountain Meadow Green River, BC Garn Wool Fingering
Choose 2 high contrast colors for best results
Needles:  Size 1 & 3  - 16 inch circulars and size 3 DPNs

HOMEWORK PRIOR TO 1st Class:  Cast on using German Twisted Cast On technique, the Hat, and complete the ribbing before the colorwork.

German Twisted Cast On

Session 1 - Begin colorwork and cable on hat.
Homework before session 2 - Using Norwegian Cast On start the mittens and complete ribbing
Session 2 - Begin mitten colorwork
Session 3 - Continue work on mitten and hat, fielding questions as they arise. 


Skill Level: Intermediate
Skill Details: Student should know how to knit, purl, cast on and bind off. Some previous Color Work experience helpful but not required. Plan on knitting between classes to keep up with pace of this project! It's a fun set!!
