Dishtowels on the 4 Harness Loom

Dishtowels are a very popular and fun item to weave! There is so much opportunity for color play while sticking with a plain weave structure. In this class students will weave a set of three 15” wide dish towels using Venne organic 8/2 cotton. Using thinner yarn, students will have the opportunity to double dent their reeds and get comfortable using an increased amount of ends per inch. This class will also cover how to cut apart your handwoven cloth safely and successfully and how to execute rolled hem edges.

Skill Level: Prior harness loom experience required

Supplies: 15” or larger table loom, 10 dent reed, boat shuttle or stick stick shuttle, reed hook, heddle hook, paper or corrugated cardboard for winding onto the loom, scissors, measuring tape.

If you do not have a portable loom we have looms at LYS for rental purposes.  The cost is 30.00 for the duration of the class. Please call the store to secure your rental.

Yarn: 3 colors of Venne 8/2 cotton - one cone of each.

Pattern will be provided by instructor on first day of class.

This class is limited to 6 students.  A minimum of 4 students is required to run this class.
