The Longest Day with Team ANN BUDD!!
On the longest day of the year, our dear friend Ann Budd, knits to raise awareness (and hopefully a whole lot of funds) for the Alzheimer’s Association. Each year the Alzheimer’s Association challenges individuals to help fight the disease by raising funds and awareness for care, support, and research on the day with the most light. This year is no exception!
On Sunday, June 23rd, Ann will knit from sunrise (somewhere around 5:00 am) to sunset (somewhere around 9:00 pm) Mountain Daylight Time on a project she designed specifically for this event. We're joining Ann, along with 7 other fabulous yarn shops, to turn this day into a fun knit-a-long (KAL). We want you to come along too.
You will receive your Zoom Link the evening before the gathering, and an hour before. We will send out a 3rd link just before we begin in case you join at the last minute!
What we'll be working on for the KAL:
Ann has designed a brand new cowl pattern called the Fading Memories 2024 - this pattern will be available in mid to late April.
When you purchase this pattern, Ann will donate $5 USD to Alzheimer's research. A perfect yarn for this pattern is the 2024 Gradient Cake dyed by Alexandra the Art of Yarn specifically for this project! For each cake sold LYS will donate 10.00 to team Ann Budd!
If you'd like to Knit-A-Long with Ann on the Longest Day, you can! To make this day more interactive, seven Local (online) Yarn Shops have joined in to host a virtual zoom session with Ann. You can check in, give Ann a "way to go, thumbs up" emoji and hang out for an hour of chat and encouragement. All eight sessions are free and will take place on Zoom.

Bazaar Girls Yarn Shop & Fiber Emporium of Port Townsend, Washington: 5:30-6:30 pm Pacific Time.

For every $50 donated to Ann's fundraiser page, your name will be entered into a raffle for the cowl Ann knits on The Longest Day!
Many of the participating shops are offering incentives and prizes for joining them that day on Zoom! Longmont Yarn will offer 2 - 25.00 Gift Cards that will be picked with the Random Number Generator and a shop discount that day for those who join us at our 11:30 Zoom!
