SWEATER CLUB Winter 2023 via ZOOM - ISABELL KRAEMER designs

Afraid to tackle that sweater alone?  We have the answer:  Sweater Club!  2 months of community, 4 - 2 hour gatherings on ZOOM, 1 sweater, lots of fun lead by Sandi Avila, an amazing sweater knitter!!   If you've been following us on Facebook or in our Newsletter you have heard about Sweater Club- this is your opportunity to join!

Our MARCH/APRIL designer is Isabell Kraemer.  This German designer is one of my favorites.  She has a verity of sweaters using all types of techniques, yarn weights and seasonal choices.

This is a KAL, not a class.  There is no formal instruction.  Leader Sandi Avila guides the group and everyone learns together.  Club members are responsible for obtaining their pattern in advance of our meetings and obtaining materials based on the pattern for each of the sweaters.  Yarn must be purchased at Longmont Yarn Shoppe.  Sweater Club Participants enjoy a 10% materials discount using code SWEATERCLUB10

This year we are choosing designers for you but you get to pick the sweater you would like to do from that designer.  If you need assistance with yarn choices or have questions about your pattern please reach out to the staff at Longmont Yarn Shoppe.

PRE-Work before first session:

Secure your yarn and pattern and complete your gauge swatch. Gauge swatch instructions will be sent prior to the first meeting.

Your zoom link will be sent the evening before the KAL. If you do not see it please check your spam filter!

What students have to say.....

Sweater Club is perfect.  I love being introduced to new designers and then being able to chose the specific sweater that calls out to me.   Sandi helps us all brave what can at first seem to be impossible constructions and their intricate instructions. I look forward to the meetings of this inspiring  group of women with their knitting wisdom and their ability to make me laugh at the world.  It helped me get through the pandemic and now I am addicted to Sweater Club.  Now if I could finally finish one of them! Susan K. in New York

I have been knitting with sweater club and Sandi for > 5 years now and never miss a session!. I came back to knitting about 7 years ago after a 20+ year hiatus. A friend recommended the custom sweater with Sandi, I learned then what a great teacher she was. From there I joined the Sweater Club. Not only have I learned a lot from Sandi and other knitters, but it has been fun and I have met a great group of women!   It has been a wonderful experience  Sandi's teaching is bar none!  Each sweater improves with technique, it is a no pressure class, but I feel we are encouraged and supported to go further and learn more with each new sweater.  Mary L in Boulder

If you have SIGNED UP FOR all 3 Sweater Club Sessions (Oct 4 launch, Dec 6 launch and Feb 7 launch and receive a 20.00 Gift Certificate to LYS)

Instructor Bio: I was born in Greenwich, Connecticut and moved to Boulder in 1975 and have never ventured too far from here. I enjoy living where you can appreciate the outdoors year-round and knit in every season. During a month-long visit, my German grandmother taught me to knit, that was 40+ years ago. I have been knitting non-stop ever since, I always have something brewing on the needles. I continued my journey in knitting and found my true passion was knitting sweaters. I really enjoy the evolution of a sweater more than any other project. I am excited to be an instructor as I love to share my passion with others and help them dispel the fear of a fitted garment. As an added bonus, I found a husband who encourages my knitting habit; he ventures with me to knit shops when we are traveling, it's always on the itinerary. It was in the last few years that I found my knitting clan at Longmont Yarn Shoppe and love the sharing, encouragement and support we bring to each other. It's a wonderful community to be a part of.
