Help the Longmont Yarn Shoppe celebrate our 10 year anniversary with this lovely kit!
The yarn in this kit was dyed for the Longmont Yarn Shoppe's 10 Year Anniversary by Road Trip Sock Yarn; it is a fingering weight yarn, 85% Merino 15% nylon blend. The colors were inspired by the traditional 10 Year Anniversary Gifts, aluminum and sapphire, as well as two animals available for adoption at the Longmont Humane Society. Our 10 Year Anniversary coincides with the Humane Society's 50th anniversary!
Road Trip Sock Yarn will be donating 10% of the yarn sales of the 10 Year Anniversary yarn to the Longmont Humane Society.
This kit comes with all the yarn needed to make either the knit or crochet shawl and a download of the pattern to your Ravelry library. Please provide your Ravelry username at checkout.
The Skyward Unity knit shawl designed by Donnie Herrington takes some inspiration from ancient Egyptian and Art Deco wing designs and a prompt with the symbol of an X, Skyward Unity is Donnie's homage to the Longmont Yarn Shoppe and it's TEN YEARS of strength in the community it has built. There are loads of references and symbolic "Easter Eggs" in this fun knit shawl. Staying true to his deceivingly simple style of designing, the shawl allows the knitter to grasp onto a repeat and anticipate the coming rows with ease.
Decades crocheted shawl was designed by Christianna Frenette-Bowland. This on-the-bias crocheted shawl features 10 groups of 10 stripes separated by a stripe of a contrasting color (there are 10 of those too!). This shawl uses the number 10 to salute the 10 years of the Longmont Yarn Shoppe and the bias point represents pointing to the future- here's to a least another 10 years!
