Designed in honor of the Taos, New Mexico, 35th annual Wool Festival, the Autumn in Taos shawl captures the colors of autumn in Taos – the bright yellow of the turning aspen leaves against the background of brilliant Taos blue sky and stark mountains, growing out of the burnt oranges and browns of the lower elevations. These colors are brought to life with the beautiful hand-dyed yarn used for the project – Palladio, a sumptious merino-cashmere-silk blend from Theodora’s Pearls by Jennifer Miller.

The crescent-shaped shawl starts with a ridged pattern in the rust-brown color. The aspen leaf color is added in stripes from which the slip stitch “stems” of the aspen leaves grow. The border is knitted on, with intarsia aspen leaves in a background of the sky color.

Your Kit includes the Pattern Code, and custom made stitch markers by Ruby Thimble.

Gauge: 6 stitches and 8 rows to 1 inch in stockinette after blocking.
