Combining Latvian braids, Fair Isle and corrugated ribbing, this is an ideal project for first time color work knitters! The pattern is designed by Tanis Gray, The pattern was named by her son, who at the time was learning about polar opposites in preschool - up & down, left & right, dark & light, tall & short, etc. He walked in, saw Tanis's yarn and said, “your hat is polarized!”
Our kits were made using one of our favorite Worsted Wt Yarns, RIOS by Malabrigo.
Each kit contains 1 skein of each color shown. We discovered with our store sample that you can make 2 hats with 2 skeins of yarn if you are willing to reverse the main color and contrast color, plus have yarn still left over!! Two hats out of one kit!
Kit includes a code for a Ravelry download of the pattern.
The details on Rios:
Soft, strong, and washable, this 4-ply yarn is our workhorse! The plies help resist pilling and washability makes it fantastic for frequently-worn garments, housewares, and children and baby clothes. And like all our yarns, it’s super soft and great for next-to-the-skin wear! Spun from our premium superwash merino, it comes in an array of watercolor-multi, semi-solid, and variegated colorways.
