LIMITED EDITION Colorway for The Longest Day 2026! The yarn was specially dyed in a continuous gradient of the Alzheimer Association's colors of teal, wound for your convenience into a 50g cake from light to dark, along with a separate 50g cake of pale grey. The color shifts represent how those afflicted with the disease turn into ghosts of their former selves. This colorway can be used with the 2026 Longest Day Cowl (knitted or crocheted).
Do What You Love 2026 (formerly known as "The Longest Day" event)
The 2026 Do What You Love campaign is sponsored by the Alzheimer’s Association (alz.org) as an annual fundraiser that takes place around the summer solstice. Through your purchase, a generous donation will go to Team Ann Budd as she champions her annual campaign to raise funds to support research for Alzheimer’s disease. For every pattern sold during the 2026 campaign, $ 5 will be donated to Alzheimer’s research. For every yarn bundle sold during the 2026 campaign, $ 10 will be donated to Alzheimer's research. For every Do What You Love Kit (project bag and accessories) sold during the 2026 campaign, $ 10 will be donated to Alzheimer's research.
Fading Memories Cowl 2026
The color pattern is achieved through a simple pattern in which two colors--a solid gray and a teal gradient--are alternated every two rounds. The gradient represents how those afflicted with dementia become ghosts of their former selves, and the slight texture produced by the diamond pattern represents the rocky road they and their families travel.

Bundle of two 50g cakes of fingering weight yarn
75% superwash Merino, 25% nylon; a total of 436 yds / 100 grams
This limited edition colorway is exclusively available from the Longmont Yarn Shoppe.
Knit version: US Size 4 (3.5mm) 16” (40 cm) circular needle, plus stitch markers, cable needle, and tapestry needle.
Crochet version: US Size G (4.0 mm) crochet hook, plus tapestry needle.
