A Rocky Mountain Retreat
After nearly two years of isolating and sheltering at home, we at Longmont Yarn Shoppe believe that it’s time for a little “me” time to relax, reconnect, and rejuvenate for a few days in the beautiful Colorado Rocky Mountains. Just imagine—an intimate gathering of fiber lovers enjoying an enormous stone fireplace with a crackling fire, majestic scenery, and exquisite organic and locally focused meals that are conscientiously farmed and harvested.
The SOS Retreat begins with check-in Thursday, March 31, 2022, and ends after breakfast Sunday, April 3, 2022, at the rustically picturesque Dao House nestled between Longs Peak and Twin Sisters Mountain, at the base of Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado. Following breakfast on Sunday, we’ll re-locate to Longmont Yarn Shoppe for private shopping and special deals from 11:30 am to 2:00 pm.
Enjoy our "Refer a Friend Incentive" - sign up for the Finishing Retreat and refer a friend who mentions your name when they register and you will be awarded a 100.00 Gift Certificate to Longmont Yarn Shoppe!
The primary goal of the SOS weekend is to relax and reconnect with like-minded knitters (and crocheters). But that’s not all. You’ll learn the fundamentals of yarn dyeing with Jennifer Miller of Theodora’s Pearls and then apply that knowledge in small groups to dye two skeins of yarn provided by Jennifer! You’ll also get 20 minutes of one-on-one time with Ann Budd to sort out any knitting problems you might have or to get expert advice on a current or future project.
The rest of time you can enjoy the comradery of other attendees, stroll the 84 acres of Rocky Mountain wilderness, or take advantage of the additional services offered at Dao House: tai chi, horseback riding, bio mat therapy, foot soaks, and an oxygen lounge. Do as much or as little as you want.
The price for the weekend is $1185 for a single room or $985 for a double. The registration fee (due upon registration) includes three nights lodging, all meals from Thursday dinner through Sunday breakfast, two skeins of yarn for dyeing under the guidance of Jennifer Miller, personal knitting help from Ann Budd, as well as a few surprises, including an awesome Peapods Threads project bag, all in a beautiful alpine setting.
Please note that proof of vaccination is required for all attendees. We will wear masks indoors and follow safety the guidelines provided by the CDC for everyone’s protection.
A $150 fee will be charged for cancellations after March 1, 2022. In the unlikely event that the retreat must be cancelled due to COVID or other unforeseen circumstances, your fee will be refunded in full.
