Math, Yes Math

I know that the majority of us really dislike that gauge swatch, but in Math, Yes Math, you will learn to make that swatch work for you. Learning how to use the swatch that you have made will save headache and heartache later on down the knitting or crochet road.

In this class you will learn how to use the swatch to determine how much yarn a project takes using your choice of yarn and needle or hook. How to adjust the size of the finished item and how many stitches the amount of yarn you have can make. Beyond the swatch we will discuss how to change yarn weight and/or needle or hook size and still make the desired pattern. We will also cover what to do when a pattern says to increase or decrease evenly.  

A handout that will be provided with all the info we go over in class, so you can take it with you and continue to use the new skills you've learned in the future. 

Materials: 
Please bring to class any patterns and yarns that you'd like to pair together and the desired needle or hook for them. Also bring a pair of straight or circular US size 8 needle and/or crochet hook size "I", and about 50g of worsted weight yarn to make the discussion swatch.
